ABOUT SOCIAL CHAIN
The Social Chain AG is the first integrated social media company that combines social media and social commerce. Around 500 employees work for the listed company at its locations in Berlin, Munich, Manchester, London and New York. bytepark is part of The Social Chain AG and was proud to be entrusted with the relaunch.
With this new website, The Social Chain AG aimed to improve the user experience (UX) on the website and to provide quick and easy options for the editorial enhancements that result particularly from the growth of the company’s divisions. The previous editorial system WordPress was to be replaced. Opting for Sulu.io as the content management system (CMS) meant that the focus was to be set on security and flexibility. Existing components developed earlier for The Social Chain AG were to be used in the interest of efficient frontend and backend provision.

First of all, concept and visual requirements were identified in a workshop and the desired information architecture was discussed. Since existing Sulu.io components developed at an earlier stage were to be reused efficiently during development of the website, the bytepark team worked closely with The Social Chain’s designer: Precise specifications for the design made it possible to significantly accelerate the development process. bytepark expanded the design created by The Social Chain AG to include mobile aspects. The design and concept phase was rounded off by user testing.
The design phase was followed by frontend development, backend enhancements and the go-live of the website.
OPEN SOURCE BASED CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The Social Chain AG website is based on Sulu.io. This flexible open source content framework offers aspects such as security, scalability and performance. Editors can use it for easy and flexible website management. The Symfony framework on which Sulu.io is based offers backend developers enormous flexibility and a high range of functions for extensions.
