Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut e. V. (dvi) is an organization that is committed to the networking and further development of the packaging industry. bytepark took over the maintenance of the existing website in 2023, and in 2024 it digitized the submission process for participating in the German Packaging Award.

With the former registration process for the German Packaging Award, dvi had to perform numerous manual steps after it received the submissions. It was also only partially possible for users to submit entries via the website and once submitted, it was also no longer possible for users to conveniently change their data. The project goal was to fully digitize the submission process for both applicants and dvi, making it more user-friendly and efficient at the same time.

Process analysis and UX design

At the beginning of the project, interviews and workshops were conducted to thoroughly analyze the process and break it down into its elements. The new user journey was then defined in close collaboration with the customer. Wireframes were subsequently created to visualize the views for the website users.

As part of the technical implementation of the submission process in Kirby, the existing CMS was updated, and the new functionalities were integrated into the current system. This also included frictionless integration with the connected billing and data management system.
