bytesend.eu was developed as a web application for the secure exchange of sensitive data. It enables the sending of confidential files by combining industry-standard security with an optimized, user-friendly interface.
How it works
With bytesend, users can upload encrypted files and generate a unique, secure link for the recipient. To ensure data protection and security, the links are temporary. During upload, you can specify how long the link and thus the file will be available and how often the file can be downloaded. Once the limit is reached or the time has expired, the file is automatically and permanently deleted from the server.

- Zero trust: Data is encrypted directly in the user's browser before it even reaches the server. Server operators and other third parties cannot access the data.
- Self-destructing links: Configurable expiration times (from 1 hour to 1 month) and download limits.

Security - End-to-end encryption (E2EE): Data is protected from the moment it leaves the sender's device until it is decrypted on the recipient's device.
- Client-side cryptography: The server never sees the raw content of the files or the “key” required to unlock them.
- Short-term storage: Automatic cleanup ensures that no “digital traces” remain after the sharing window is closed.
