Adobe Flex

Adobe Flex is a framework based on ActionScript 3 for developing and updating attractive web applications which can be consistently executed on all customary browsers, desktops and operating systems. Flex includes a comprehensive library with a host of expandable components for designing the user interfaces of RIAs. The visual appearance of these components can be freely adapted to the specific requirements of the given application.

The Flex framework itself consists of several components, such as the software development kit and other services. Flex applications are created by ActionScript 3 and the MXML markup language. The development environment of Adobe Flex enables the creation of rich and interactive web applications and extraordinary data visualizations. Flex frameworks are also often used in conjunction with Adobe Flex applications, the most popular of these being Cairngorm, PureMVC und Mate.
